13% of our income to the Cooperative Program
These monies are then administered by the Baptist Convention of Iowa and the Southern Baptist Convention for missions causes in North America and throughout the World. Our money helps to support over 5,000+ missionaries in the United States and 5,000+ missionaries in over 126 nations.
3.5% of our income to the Northwest Baptist Association
Supports mission work and church starting in Northwest Iowa.
3.5% of our income to a Local Missions Fund
administered by this congregation for our own church planting and local missions efforts.
In addition, we sponsor three special offerings:
· Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions
Every December we celebrate together an international missions emphasis. We highlight the work of our over 5,000 missionaries in over 130 countries of the world and pray that God’s people will give a sacrificial gift to the cause of the gospel. These gifts go directly to the mission field dollar for dollar, with no deduction for administrative costs.
· Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions
Every March we emphasize the cause of missions in North America. Currently our gifts through the Cooperative Program and this offering help support over 5,000 missionaries in the United States, Canada, Guam, and American Samoa. Again, these funds go directly to the mission field with no administrative deductions.
· Bill Hyde State Missions Offering for Iowa Missions
Every September we emphasize mission work in Iowa. These funds help to plant new churches, grow those that have been established, and to develop community, language and campus ministries. Because the Southern Baptist Convention contributes $89 for every $11 given by our churches, this offering has a significant effect on missions in Iowa. That means for every $11 we contribute to this offering as a church, the Baptist Convention of Iowa will have $100 of funds to work with to start new churches and strengthen existing churches.
