Those who are not in the Directory: Please sign and put your telephone number on the sign-up sheet so a time to take a photo and gather info can be arranged. NOTE: You don’t have to be members to be in the directory – if you consider HCBC to be your ‘church home’, we would like to include you in this update.
TABITHA'S CLOSET
(based on Acts 9:36 – located in the locker room at SW corner of Gym)
To Donate: Please bring CLEAN, READY-TO-WEAR clothing to the Church office. (only clothing; no hats or undergarments can be accepted)
Needs-based Ministry: Anyone who attends Heartland Community Baptist may receive from this closet. In addition, anyone from Heartland may recommend others who have a need; thereby ministering to the community.
WALK THROUGH TABITHA’S CLOSET: Sunday, April 27, 10:00-10:30
Time Open: After April 27th, Sunday mornings immediately following the Worship Service, and at other times by appointment.
Contact Rachel Johns (712/239-2034) or Jo Jones (605/422-1215) with questions or if you want to volunteer to help with this new ministry.
Volunteers are needed for Tabitha’s Closet – See notice below.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for TABITHA'S CLOSET
Volunteers are needed in the following areas of this ministry. You may volunteer for any or all of these areas of service.
1. Take a rotation of overseeing the closet / dispensing clothing after the service Sunday morning. This requires a commitment of 15 minutes, minimum – more time will be needed if someone is there to get clothing.
2. Sort and hang clothing during the week.
3. Meet with people who need to receive clothing at a time other than Sunday.
Remember this is a ‘needs based’ ministry. We want to assist anyone who is associated with our church, but we desire to minister to our community as well. Most community participants will come through direct contact with someone from HCBC.
Thank you to those who have already donated. Clothing donations will be needed on an on-going basis. Think of us when you are thinning down your wardrobe. Tell your friends!
If you are interested in being a volunteer, please call Jo Jones (605-422-1215) or Rachel Johns (712-239-2034).
Remember to come see Tabitha’s Closet at the ‘Walk Through’ Sunday, April 27, 10:00-10:30.
WORLD CHANGERS
World Changers Approximately 150 kids + adults are coming to Sioux City June 7-14, 2008. We will be helping those who cannot help themselves by making necessary repairs to the homes of people who are elderly, disabled and financially needy. We did this last year, and those of you who participated know what a huge undertaking it is – you also know that it’s worth every bit of effort it takes! Every time; we come away with the experience of both witnessing and being witnessed to by young people from several states. Get involved! You’ll be glad you did!
The sign-up sheet for those who will help (lunch preparation & delivery) is on the table outside the Gym. If you would like to sign up to help the work crews, you can sign this same sheet – just be sure to indicate that is what you wish to do.
If you have questions:
Food volunteers: Call Linda Guggenmos (274-1819) or Karen Scott (239-2696)
Work crew volunteers: Call Dave Guggenmos (274-1819)
